What I’ve noticed when I train people on AI, is that sometimes they struggle to think beyond the simple every day usage that we cover in the Bootcamps. They might go as far as building their own AI project assistant using a custom GPT for their team, but mostly they take what I teach in the courses and use it for their own role. That’s great, and it does save many of them hours of work every week, but we in the SME community need to start thinking bigger and more strategically.
The conversations I’ve been having have shown me that to get to the next level not just about understanding what AI can and can’t do, it’s also about creativity, objectivity and headspace – having a person on the outside pick apart a workflow and understand what can be automated and what can’t.
That’s what I’ve been doing A lot of Let me give you four examples of clients that I’m working with right now that might spark something off for you.
1: With a client today. Getting a lot of Instagram messages that they don’t have time to attend to. Such a great and easy case for AI implementation. ✅
2: Another client came to us with a report he has to create that takes a long time. He needs complete oversight on the content, but the generation of all the different sections can take up to 2 days per project. He has 300 sample reports that he can give us to train with. Again, a perfect use case for a reliable and quick solution. ✅
3: Another client gets a lot media which is great! The problem is that it all needs to be logged, analysed and downloaded for reporting. This could take a few days out of a working month, and it’s not the most stimulating task. (This one was not as straightforward as it sounds for a number of reasons) but another great candidate for AI to try to free up that resource. ✅
4: Another client wants create an intranet site with a chatbot that is trained on all of their policies and opportunities so that employees can learn about upskilling and available roles, taking a burden of the HR team. ✅
5: Another client wants to manage hundreds of field workers who visit clients and their schedules because when managing cancellations and re-assigning staff is getting unmanageable. More complicated to build something custom, but definitely a job for AI. ✅
